$5 - Make a Difference

The Zonta Club of Lansing is in the midst of a Summer/Fall Project that will be coming to an end on September 20th. Each member was given a $5 bill with a note that said the following: "With this $5 make a small difference in someone else's life. You have a month to do good with it. Make a difference for a friend, a stranger, anyone in need. You may add to it, but you MUST spend it all. Spend it however you want, but come back to the September 20th Program Meeting prepared to tell how YOU took a mere $5 bill and helped another. Good luck and have fun with it. We can make a difference in another's life."

Zonta Events - Fall 2010

Hats Off to Lucile, Own a Piece of the Legacy

Live Auction - Country Club of Lansing, October 12, 2010

This event was a tribute to Lucile Belen and a fundraiser for some of her favorite charities. According to Lucile's own wishes, her trademark hats were donated to Zonta to be used to raise money to continue the good work of Zonta club of Lansing.

We thank Sherri Jones, Scott Dorer, and Fred Belen who so graciously donated their time and talents to help Zonta Club of Lansing make the evening the hug success that it was.

Lucile E. Belen Award

The Ingham County Women's Commission (ICWC) created this award to recognize women from the county who do extraordinary things. This award creates an opportunity to shine a spotlight on those who have had a positive impact in our county.

See link for submission form: ICWC_Lucile_E _Belen_Award.pdf

Change for Change: A new initiative begun in 2008-09 is to collect coins in "piggy banks" placed on each table at each luncheon meeting. This money will be transferred to the Zonta Club of Lansing Foundation next May to provide financial support and assistance to aid in improving the legal, educational, economic, and professional status of women.
