About Us

Zonta is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women. The Confederation of Zonta Clubs was organized at Buffalo, New York in 1919 and incorporated in 1922. Zonta has had its headquarters in Chicago since 1928.

The Zonta Club of Lansing was organized January 27, 1922, with a charter membership of twenty-nine by the Zonta Club of Detroit, one of the nine original Charter Clubs. The Club was incorporated in the State of Michigan on June 1, 1979. It has been instrumental in chartering eight other Zonta Clubs, thereby contributing to an expansion of programs that advance the status of women.

Zonta Club of Lansing members meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the University Club of Michigan State University.

The Zonta Club of Lansing is a member of District 15, Area 2 of Zonta International. Denise Quarles is Governor,  Karen Armaly is Lieutenant Governor, and Cheryl Hall is Area 2 Director. Patty Johnson is Treasurer.

The Zonta Club of Lansing is a premier service organization in the Lansing area that improves the status of women's health, education and economic circumstances, both locally and internationally, through its members' enthusiastic, collective, and successful commitment of their creativity, service hours, and financial resources.

Objective 1 - Ensure the long-term viability of our club.
Objective 2 - Generate sufficient resources to support our mission and vision.
Objective 3 - Increase community awareness of the club and its mission and vision.
Objective 4 - Increase members' knowledge and commitment to the objects of Zonta and
                     women's issues.
Objective 5 - Engage our members in meaningful activities that support our mission and vision.
